Policy and Pricing Update for Pfabe's Music Academy - March 2025

Dear Families,

Thank you for your continued trust in Pfabe's Music Academy. We are excited to share some important updates to our policies and pricing designed to enhance your experience and ensure equity in lesson scheduling. These changes will take effect over the next two months, and we appreciate your attention to these updates as we aim to provide exceptional music education for all our students.

1. Transition to a 48-Week Calendar

Starting in 2025, we will be moving from a 52-week calendar to a 48-week calendar. This means:

• Every student will receive 48 lessons per year, regardless of the day of the week they attend lessons.

• Pre-set breaks will be scheduled throughout the year, ensuring consistent and equitable lesson opportunities for all students. The 2025 Pfabe’s calendar is included in this communication and will be posted on the Pfabe’s website. 

• This adjustment eliminates discrepancies caused by holidays and planned closures affecting certain days of the week. So you know you’re getting what you are paying for!

This ensures all students receive the same value and consistency in their musical education.

2. Transition to Tuition-Based Pricing

Beginning May 1, 2025, Pfabe's Music Academy will adopt a tuition-based pricing model. 

During the month of April, please be sure to check in with our front staff to update your card on file and get payments set up for the first of the month. All families will need to check in with the front even if you’re already on an automatic payment plan:

• Monthly Tuition: $120 per month, charged on the 1st of each month. All payments will be on an automatic payment plan unless otherwise arranged with Pfabe’s. 

• Withdrawal Policy: Families must notify us of student withdrawals. Spots cannot be held for breaks but students are welcome to sign up again when they are able to. 

• Lesson Cancellation: Cancellations can be made up with their teacher or another teacher based on schedule availability. We will have days set aside as make up days in addition to the availability naturally in a teacher’s schedule. We will do everything in our ability to reschedule a lesson, but cannot guarantee make-up availability. 

In cases where cancellations are made by the teacher, families will receive a refund or the option for a make-up lesson, subject to teacher availability. Cancellations by student  must be made 48 hours in advance to qualify for a refund

• Checking in: Students are now required to check in at the front desk when arriving for lessons if they take lessons in the main building. Students taking lessons in the house will be checked in by their teacher. 

Discounts for Families and First Responders

To support our larger families and first responders:

• A $10 per month discount will be provided for each additional student in the same family.

• A $10 per month discount will also be extended to first responders.

These discounts will be applied to each eligible child, keeping tuition affordable while maintaining the high quality of education you expect. Please let our staff know if you believe you qualify for a discount.
