As the holiday season approaches, all of us at Pfabe's Music Academy—the owners, administrators, and dedicated faculty—want to extend our warmest wishes to you and your family. Upcoming Academy Breaks

As the holiday season approaches, we want to provide an important reminder regarding our scheduled academy closures for our Fall and Winter breaks.

Please note the academy will be closed on the following dates:

• Fall/Thanksgiving Break: Tuesday, November 25th – Saturday, November 29th

• Winter/Christmas Break: Tuesday, December 23rd – Thursday, January 1st
  
  

Understanding Our Consistent Tuition Policy:

We understand that you may have questions about tuition when breaks occur, so we want to be clear about how our scheduling works:

Our monthly tuition payment is calculated as a portion of your student’s annual tuition. This annual approach ensures that every student receives 48 lessons in a calendar year, regardless of which day of the week their lesson falls.

This means that all planned breaks, including those listed above, are already factored into your consistent monthly payment. If your student only has three lessons in December, rest assured they received five lessons in a previous month, ensuring the full yearly lesson count.

Our goal is to provide absolute consistency and the same excellent value for all students throughout the year. Because these scheduled closures are already accounted for in the monthly rate, we do not offer refunds or makeups for any planned academy closures.

Major Bass Guitar Sale: Insider Student Information!

We have an exciting announcement exclusively for our academy families! 

As we clear inventory for the new year, we will be holding a major bass guitar clearance sale on Monday, December 1st, starting at 2:00 PM. All remaining bass guitars currently in our store inventory will be discounted to an incredible flat price of $200! Please note that inventory is extremely limited, and these instruments will be sold strictly on a first-come, first-served basis.

Winter Showcase - December 13th at 3:00

CALLING ALL TEACHERS, STUDENTS, AND STAFF! 

We are thrilled to announce the details for the annual Pfabe's Music Academy Winter Showcase and invite all members of our community—students, dedicated teachers, and valuable staff—to participate by sharing their musical talents!

This showcase is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the hard work, progress, and artistry developed throughout the year in a supportive and festive environment. Whether you are a student ready for your first performance, a teacher looking to inspire, or a staff member with a hidden talent, we encourage you to sign up!

Date: Saturday, December 13, 2025

Time: 3:00 PM (performers should arrive by 2:30)

Where: A-Lecture at Mentor High School

Dress Code: Semi-Formal/Festive Attire

Performance Guidelines:

• Duration: Please limit performances to a maximum of 3 minutes. If your piece is longer, please plan to perform an excerpt.

• Repertoire: All musical styles and instruments are welcome! Solo, duet, or small ensemble performances are encouraged. You can have a family member or friend perform with you.

• Accompaniment: If you require accompaniment (e.g., piano or backing tracks), please indicate this on the sign-up form. Performers are responsible for securing their own accompanist.

Academy Closure Policy: Inclement Weather

As residents of Northeast Ohio, we know we have potential for… a LOT of snow. So to be prepared, here is an update and reminder of our snow day policies. 

Pfabe's Music Academy will adhere to the Mentor School District's official snow day closure decisions.

• This policy applies to both our Painesville and Willoughby locations.

• It is strictly limited to closures specifically due to snow and hazardous road conditions (it does not include closures related to extreme cold, heat, or non-weather-related issues).

Communitcations: 

Should the Academy need to close due to weather, families will be notified promptly via email/text communication. Closure announcements will also be posted on our official website and social media channels.

Makeup Lessons: 

If Pfabe's Music Academy is required to close due to inclement weather, we will make every effort to work with families and instructors to schedule appropriate make-up lessons for the cancelled sessions whenever feasible.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we prioritize the safety of our students, staff, and families during the winter months.

Community Performance Opportunity: "Home for the Holidays”

We are thrilled to announce a performance opportunity for both our students and faculty to share their musical talents with the local community!

We have been invited to participate in the annual "Home for the Holidays" event at the Lake Historical Society, which will be fully decorated for the season. This is a chance to be part of a festive, old-fashioned tradition and spread some holiday cheer.

• When: Thursday, December 4th through Sunday, December 7th.

• Time: 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM each day.

We need your musical talent!

We are seeking volunteer performers—students of all skill levels and faculty—to donate some time and instrumentals to make this event special.

Flexibility is key:

• You can play for as little as five minutes or as long as an hour (or more!).

• Performers are welcome to play, take a break, and then return to play again. Any amount of time you can give is sincerely appreciated.
